These safari photos were taken in Arusha, Tarangire National Park, the Singita Grumeti Reserves, the Serengeti National Park and the Loliondo Concession in Northern Tanzania in February 2007.

We timed our trip with the calving season, when around a half-million Wildebeest calves are born within a 2-4 week period.  Not only is this spectacle of mass birth awesome in itself, it also attracts greater than normal predator activity and sets the stage for the migration from Tanzania’s Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara as the great herd searches for fertile grassland.
