While our previous safari was the 10th anniversary of our wedding, this one was the 10th anniversary of our first safari (our honeymoon) and also the first for our daughter since she was born (she joined us in the womb here).  So, this was our first truly family-friendly safari.  While Phinda didn’t provide as immediate a connection with the wild as a tented camp, it was nonetheless a gracious escape that enabled all the care that an 11-month old required.

We capped the safari with several wonderful days based in the Constantia winelands just outside Cape Town and were reminded that it is truly one of the most beautiful and sophisticated cities in the world.  Our stay at The Cellars Hohenort was a nod to our honeymoon, when we had a wonderful dinner at the award winning Green House.
